I'm a heterosexual guy, but for some reason, I find armpit hair repulsive. Arm and leg hair on myself, I'm ok with, but armpit hair just feels gross. Whenever I see girls with their hairless armpits, I envy them because it looks so neat and clean. I wish I could have hairless armpits like them but it's not socially acceptable and would weird out some people if I did remove the hair.

But is it weird that I feel this way and want to shave my armpit hair off?

I still remember back in high school when a male friend of mine put his arm over my shoulders (I'm a short gal) and I felt the sweaty pit hair. We were in marching band and so everyone was sweaty af, but the sweaty Tribble on my shoulder was not okay.

It comes down to amount of hair and length. If you're not super hairy under there, it's usually fine, but if you're smuggling pomeranians under your arms, it's probably better to trim (or shave) when sweaty and sleeveless is a thing.

Pretty much the same as pubes. I don't care if a partner (regardless of gender, I'm bi/pan) doesn't shave/wax, but keeping things trimmed is preferred, especially if they are naturally sweaty. But I also know some really hairy folks who manage to stay not-funky so it just depends.

Actually the hair is there to amplify the smell. If you remove it your armpits smell much less deodorant or no. The hair increases the surface area so it makes it smell much more.

I had to stop using antiperspirant because it seemed to clog up my pores and I would start developing subcutaneous cysts all around the affected area. It's all scarred and pock-marked now. :( Just a cautionary tale to use responsibly and stop use with any sign of side-effects.

Idk why but this reminded me of a guy in high school who had a different hair problem. He was a hairy sasquatch on almost his entire body; chest, arms, back, you name it...except for his head, which was heavily balding on the top of his head. Sophomore year of College my roomie was a swimmer (every year really, no regular College student wants a roomie that wakes up at 4am to go to morning practice before class), and had similar issues. The armpits because it’s humid as fuck and I getter better performance from my antiperspirant when they are shave, and the later because they wife appreciates not having to pick pick pubes out of her teeth, and also it’s humid as fuck so I sweat more in the crotch when it’s hairy.

I (male) plan to buy a body trimmer so I can shave my pits so I can wear a sleeveless t-shirt or tank top around in public. Reason being I'm embarrassed because of how thick they are as with all of my body hair (Somebody called me Sasquatch once!) and don't want people seeing them. Here's some more motivation: the main reason armpits smell bad is because of all the bacteria living in your pit hair eating and farting. Shave the hair = an extreme reduction in the amount of bacteria making you smell like a sweaty fart. I'm a guy and this was my main reason to start shaving.

But stubbles, ingrown hairs, dark looking pits, accidental cuts, razor burns and razor bumps, really suck. (And I think are worse looking than arm pit hair)

Yes exactly, I don’t understand why he’s like “I am so jealous that girls get to shave”. Sorry, but have you ever nicked your armpits before? It is not a pleasant situation. It is fucking sensitive and it hurts like HELL! Even if I don’t nick myself, the razor burn hurts even worse when putting deodorant or perfume on. And if I don’t, then I will have people who are looking at me like I’m disgusting and should be shunned. So to hear a guy tell me that he’s jealous of what I get to go through kind of ticks me off, especially considering that I don’t think anyone will shun him for shaving to begin with.

I had a coworker at a fast food place who kept complaining because a teenage girl wore capris and didn't shave her legs. She said it was a health and safety risk. But she said it was okay for guys to wear shorts without shaved legs in the kitchen. Because apparently man leg hair isn't a health and safety risk, but woman leg hair is. I trim my armpit and groin hair very short to reduce how much sweat odor it retains. I don't feel a need to shave, but if I did I wouldn't feel self-conscious. You don't need to either.

Trimming is better than shaving anyways, imo. Shaving results in skin sticking to skin. Having some hair creates a barrier to prevent that.

I trim my arm pit hair down probably a few times a year, but I always leave some length. It gets irritated easily if I go too short and constant feels like my pits are getting stabbed. Try shaving just one and leaving the other amd see how many people you can get to actually say something. They'll probably notice but I doubt anyone cares until something stands out as actually weird.
