Dude entertaining with amazing relaxing music. Dude in the background being a total douchebag. Seems legit.

u/Vlogchamp Feb 07 '22
This is strangely poetic
Also, anyone know what song he’s playing?

The ambiance of it all. My fucking gosh man. It just blends so well. The arguing. The music the train. It all.

u/Djd33j Feb 07 '22
Reminds me of Hey Arnold
3
u/bisonsox Feb 08 '22
I loved Hey Arnold as a kid. It introduced a small town Oklahoma kid to jazz and I’ve lived it since

It all goes together perfectly. In one way that is NYC. Beautiful and chaotic
24
u/shishdem Feb 07 '22
as someone not from NYC... this looks absolutely horrifying. random people fighting and a loud ass sax... not what I have in mind as a peaceful commute.

u/vanishplusxzone Feb 07 '22
What's a peaceful commute?
5
u/shishdem Feb 07 '22
put in earbuds, travel without getting disturbed, minimal interaction, get to your destimation
6
u/ToastfulBoast Feb 07 '22
It's pretty easy to tune out with experience. I will say I've never seen a fight like this on the subway in person. But maybe 1/5 rides will have some sort of crazy. Then again I only really ride the 1, IDK if it's crazier on other routes.
3
u/Filmcricket Feb 08 '22
Literally nothing stopping that from occurring. You live here and you get good at tuning shit out. If other people doing shit is a threat to your state of being, you’re state of being is fragile and you’re a wienerbaby.
3
u/vanishplusxzone Feb 07 '22
Idk, I don't have subways where I'm from, but I've had as small as a .8 mile commute and I still had to deal with drunk drivers and psychopaths that fucked with pedestrians daily.
A peaceful commute sounds like the kind of thing that just doesn't exist in reality.

I need to find a fully remote job.
No way I'm putting up with this shit again (it's obviously gotten a lit worse) and the ubers are a waste of money.
13
u/Taupenbeige Feb 07 '22
I’ve been here 20 years this March, and I gotta say, in that time bike commuting has gotten exponentially safer. Also it gives you 💎diamond💎 glutes and 🪨rock🪨 thighs.
Also, nobody firing-up their brass Covid cannon on your F car

u/TwilitSky Feb 07 '22
Yeah we're not quite in the 1980s w/ Bernie Goetz, but it's not the 2000s anymore, either.

u/almalexias Feb 07 '22
I’ve been biking. It’s pretty nice! You can get yourself an e bike if you need the extra boost, just be sure to wear a helmet

anyone know what song he is playin or is it improv?
2
u/schindlersLisst Feb 19 '22
Giveon. Garden kisses
2
u/tattoocomtwo Feb 19 '22
thanks, I checked some versions on youtube but the improv here is really nice
1
u/schindlersLisst Feb 19 '22
Most def. The ambiance of it all is truly poetic. The arguing, the train, the sax. It’s just awesome

Someone needs to put a rugged detective voice over this explaining why he hates this city but how it keeps sucking him back in.
20
u/andytheautomator Feb 07 '22
This guy is amazing. Whenever I’m stuck listening to a busker it’s always their first day beat boxxing or they just got electric bagpipes and want to try them out on my car.

I never want to live in a big city unless I'm stupid fucking rich. Cuz then I wouldn't have to deal with shit like this.
3
u/Bugtustle Feb 08 '22
If I was rich, I would never consider living in a city. I could afford to be far away from crazy assholes and it would be the absolute best use of my money.
5
u/Gilligan910 Feb 07 '22
This might seem strange but this was beautiful, fucking art.
2
u/KingDlv Feb 08 '22
My thoughts exactly. This is quite beautiful to say the least. Everything works out just so perfect.

In a world of violence and idiotic people screaming at each other, be the cool guy with the saxophone.

I don’t think anybody who rides the subway with these people would call it beautiful.
1
u/Feli_Bosc Feb 07 '22
So people on this train do not have a choice. They are all forced to listen to this guy playing. I think it's really unfair doing this on a train because you force people into it. Do it on the streets where people would have a choice to stop to listen or not
3
u/liquorbath Feb 07 '22
lol one the most talented buskers I’ve seen in a video and that’s your complaint… not the imbeciles fighting in the background

Bro Kendrick Lamar about to sample this, lay it in the background and start talking about “I remember you was conflicted, misusing ya influence, sometimes I didn’t the same” and jam 😂😂
1
u/YuriWinter Feb 07 '22
It feels like the end credits of a movie except instead of bloopers it's just the backstage arguing.

u/DamnBunny Feb 07 '22
This is pretty much how i pictured every episode of Sopranos when they have the music audio louder than the voices.

Damn that sax gave me goosebumps and teared me up a little and these other people were fighting. Different Stokes for different folks.

This was legitimately beautiful and I've heard other artists emulate it in their own way (Like Joji's Worldstar Money (interlude). So crazy to see it happen naturally and the guy just keeps playing that buttery smooth music lmao... wild...

u/Pillow_Top_Lover Feb 18 '22
What is not to like about a well played saxophone.
At least stop, chill and listen.

I’d call this album “songs of the city” this sounds like the perfect interlude song
