Every die-hard Trumpist and Qanon cultist has been infected with Russian propoganda. They all are rooting for Putin and believe all the outlandish bullshit he's been feeding his own population for decades. I've heard it countless times from them, they've got brain worms.

5

I misread that as “the outlandish bullshit like, that he’s been feeding his own population” it ain’t wrong tho

He’s ex SAS attached to the International SIS unit for diplomatic protection abroad. Before this he was engaged in the Middle East as an extraction specialist and was trained as a demolition expert. The level these people perform at is incredible and they also have to be a certified navy diver or equivalent status with at least 1800 hours of underwater operations. The unit was formally recognized when, in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.

81

u/noobsy007 May 14 '22

Chuck Schumer and Mconnel have been pretty unified in Ukraine, I mean they even teamed up against Rand Paul who’s currently blocking aid to Ukraine.

41

u/xitox5123 May 14 '22

there were like 60 republicans in the house who voted against aid. rand paul temporary paused the big aid package for a few days. However, this will pass with senate with at least 90 votes.

Some of them. I have a couple classmates on Facebook who railed on Biden wasting billions on the war just yesterday. It's unclear to me if they are an extreme minority or not.

14

u/dragonfliesloveme May 14 '22

Ukraine needs to hold, and they need to hold as a democracy. The US State Dept as well as the EU consider it a high security risk if Ukraine falls.

In a nutshell, this is a fight of authoritarianism vs democracry.

So you might ask your classmates how much money a democracy is worth? It’s something people over centuries have given their lives for, including the US.

59

u/burntfuck May 14 '22

And GOP Senator Rand Paul blocking aid is an indication the GOP is divided on whether to support Ukraine. Also the aid withheld during Trump’s presidency.

20

u/OutBackCheeseHouse May 14 '22

That was only 1 Senator out of the entire Republican Senate caucus. I think there should be plenty of support for Ukraine in the near future. However I worry that if Trump were to retake the presidency and as the MAGA group gain more power in Congress that if in a few years Ukraine were attacked again they’d be screwed.

I mean, voting for any republican just because of Ukraine support sounds crazy.

In fact, Putin's fall will be the perfect cover because they can claim to be helping the new government get it right this time, which will no doubt include high levels of contact between Republican office holders, and well connected economical leaders of Russia (the oligarchs).

36

Its kinda like voting for a candidate for other single-issues in the US. Guns, God, Gays, pro-life, anti-abortion and so on. It’s how the US we got to where we are. About 67 million people voted for Trump in 2020 due to single-issues. The same thing happens when people vote for a third party candidate in protest. You just helped the people you didn’t want to get elected, elected but your conscience is clear. You didn’t vote for “that person”. I fully support Ukraine, but I won’t put my blinders on. I’d rather lobby the crap out of a sane politician to change their mind on Ukraine than deal with insanity over a single-issue.

Edit: typo

I'm Ukrainian and I hate McConnel's guts but I gotta admit this softens me up.

Rationally thinking, however, supporting Ukraine against russia is kind of a no-brainer thing to do - like "not kicking puppies" - it'd be an outrage if it's not done and a matter of course if it is. Still... my feels are so conflicted from this. He clearly knows what he's doing.

25

u/Organic-Pudding-8204 May 14 '22

Everyone has an agenda. So long as it works to your favor accept it. But you are absolutely 💯 right to be weary. We all should be, especially with US election time coming.

11

u/Top-Algae-2464 May 14 '22

zelensky is smart he knows midterms are coming up and the republicans have a chance to be a majority . its good to talk to them and make sure they will support ukraine if they win .

8

u/Organic-Pudding-8204 May 14 '22

A phone call could have sufficed for that. This is purely a photo op for Republicans in the mideterm. They have a chance at midterms without this photo it would be dismal.

9

u/Top-Algae-2464 May 14 '22

the leader of congress has the power to release money to ukraine biden cant do that without congress . zelensky doesnt care about us politics he is in a war for his life . he needs to meet in person and make sure a republican majority congress will support ukraine .

i understand your point i dont like mitch or his policy positions either but we cant look at this through american eyes . if zelensky turns down republican offers to visit him it could hurt ukraine . that is all zelensky cares about is helping his country survive and he needs to do everything he can .

u/Professor_Eindackel May 14 '22

Unfortunately as we are seeing, supporting Ukraine against russia and being against kicking puppies are the exact same thing when the animal-abusing russkies are involved. It’s a two-fer.

12

u/Vieta_Rusanova May 14 '22

The visit is because one of theirs screwed up and blocked aid to Ukraine. McConnell is there to do damage control so Ukraine will be getting what they need and much quicker now

4

u/DicmoVolant May 14 '22 edited May 14 '22

Remember that McConnell voted not to impeach Trump when he was caught blackmailing Zelensky by withholding already allocated military aid because he wouldn't create bullshit evidence. He is no friend to Ukraine, just a rat leaving an obviously sinking ship and needing to make a show of it.

I'm not saying Ukraine should refuse the support, because you definitely should accept it. Our shitty politics should not be a factor in your war for survival. The American public is largely behind you, hence the GOP's turn on Putin. Glory to Ukraine you beautiful badasses!

I know this isn't the place for American politics but this is exactly the sort of situation these guys live for. They all cut their teeth when communists USSR was a boogeyman out in the world to undermine US success.

It's the reason that should worry us. They don't care about Ukraine only care about Russia losing. They have no moral compass or at least their moral compass is calibrated way differently than most. 8 years ago they were happy to let Ukraine suffer under Russia because of "corruption".

This is crap. Republicans are trying to save face back home they’re not actually doing anything to help Ukraine. Poor Zelenskyy has to spend his time with these MFs.

3

u/PF2500 May 14 '22

omg with that snake Susan Collins. shameless self promotion. All of them using Zelensky.

30

u/[deleted] May 14 '22

McConnell Will stab you in the back the second he receives any pressure from the GOP.

10

u/5centseye May 14 '22

Meanwhile, the other, “junior Senator” from Kentucky, plotted ways to make himself the center of attention while serving his dear leader, Vlad Putin.

33

u/AboveTheRimjob May 14 '22

Haven’t Ukrainians suffered enough? Now they gotta host Mitch…

15

u/Apprehensive-Soil-47 Sweden May 14 '22

I hope Zel washed his hands properly after shaking hands with old Mitch. Can't put my finger on it but something about our boy Mitch makes me feel dirty. And not the good kind of dirty.

43

u/NoQuarterChicken May 14 '22

Zelenskyy probably never felt safer from a Russian attack than being accompanied by these treasonous cunts.

24

u/MarkJ- May 14 '22

Nice but don't ever trust US republicans, never turn you back on them, they are worse than snakes.

8

u/Fager-Dam May 14 '22

At this point Ukraine needs to get along with the republicans. They need that aid.

4

u/MarkJ- May 14 '22

Indeed. But again, don't trust them.

American here. Apologies for delving into domestic US politics, but it’s actually immediately relevant in this case:

Those two senators are fucking snakes. They’ll say one thing, do the opposite, and measure your back for a knife while they’re doing it. They’re traitors and psychopaths of the highest order - they just happen to wear suits and cocktail attire. Their words may match up with what the rest of the world and most of the US is saying now, but I guarantee you they’re only saying it to appear as if they’re supporting the majority now.

They say nice things about supporting Ukraine at the moment, but if they and their party get power in November, I can also guarantee you that they’ll end up slashing all the foreign and military aid we’re giving to Ukraine (plus a lot more US-specific stuff that isn’t really relevant here). Remember: 7 Republican Senators and a Republican representative went to Moscow on July 4th, 2018, and since McConnell at the time controlled the senate, there’s literally no way he didn’t know and didn’t approve of it. As a comparison, this would be like if some top members of the Russian Duma went to DC on May 9th.

Collins has consistently pretended to be a “moderate”, only to turn around and back the party line and feign surprise at the actions of her own party (for a present and relevant example, see the clusterfuck currently going on in the US about abortion and our Supreme Court justices). If McConnell leads, Collins will follow.

So sure, take the help the offer for now, but keep a very fucking close eye on them. I guarantee you that this is a matter of political convenience and optics for them and their party.

DO NOT TRUST THEM.

9

u/Konnnan May 14 '22

It's also republicans who have been trying to ease up sanctions on Russia. The very sanctions placed on them because of Ukraine.

3

u/twat69 May 14 '22

Are any of these senators part of the group that was summoned to Moscow to bend the knee on July 4th?

3

u/CrunchPunchMyLunch May 14 '22

Zelensky manages to be the shortest person, yet he stands taller than anyone else in the room. Putin meanwhile is an insecure little dwarf hiding in a bunker. Speaks volumes.

3

u/Terrorbeard May 14 '22

It's not a good idea to touch snakes.

3

u/tomzicare May 14 '22

LOL, now that it's safe everyone is coming. Remember forever, it was Slovenia, Poland and Czech Republic who came to Kyiv first while it was besieged.

3

u/[deleted] May 14 '22

Would it have been too much to ask a bipartisan delegation to visit?

I thought the same thing earlier when Pelosi & just Dems visited earlier, didn’t post.

I swear I hate what our elected puppets are doing.

3

u/healing-souls May 14 '22

The irony of the GOP bitching about Pelosi not bringing any republicans excluding any democrats from joining them.

It's like watching fucking toddlers argue

3

u/Ok_Anxiety4671 May 14 '22

Don't trust any Republican from the US. They will shake your hand and stab you in the back at the same time.

3

u/account_1100011 May 14 '22

Warning!

Don't believe McConnel's lies! He's on the Russian side!

Don't believe Republican lies!

3

u/Jcupsz May 14 '22

Except Rand Paul, fuck Rand Paul.

15

u/AllThePugs USA May 14 '22

I hope zelenskyy asked Moscow mitch why rand paul is such a cunt. This that sue Collins too? I'm surprised she left her house after calling the cops that someone wrote a message in chalk on her sidewalk to support women's rights, what a cunt.

10

u/mountaindewisamazing May 14 '22

Mitch McConnell is an awful human being. Do you have any idea how bad you have to be for him to be the good guy in this situation?

I'm glad that Russia's attempts at completely controlling the republican party have failed. Bipartisanship means that Ukraine will win.

5

u/DefectiveGadget May 14 '22

Don't trust those garbage human beings, they supported the guy that tried to extort president Zelenskyy.

Javelins for dirt on Joe Bidens son. "Do us a favor though".

These scum balls would have voted for the US to recognize LPR and DPR, if Trump were still in office. They are complicit.

6

5

u/LeastZookeepergame83 May 14 '22

guess its time for the republicans to line their pockets; everyone is getting some.

Ewwww turtle mitch.

7

u/[deleted] May 14 '22

Despite this being a photo op. This is actually very important. It shows that both Libs and Cons are paying court to the most powerful man in Europe. All of them are abjectly begging to give money to Ukraine. And you know what? Im all for it. This is money that is well spent, Notice who is missing? The MAGA mother fuckers. Rand Paul is missing as well, he might have gotten bitch slapped, again, and caused a diplomatic kerfluffle. Being very cynical here, Mitch is all for this, all those juice contracts about to start flowing to the MIC. Also, I had no idea the old boy was a frail as he is. Time for some new blood in the Senate.

3

u/Last_Patrol_ May 14 '22

That’s what I thought too, it’s a big deal to have a sign of support in a visit with senior US senators. When these wheels start turning they won’t be easy to stop. It’s one signal of the end of the beginning for Putin, next phase is the beginning of the end. All the confidence from Crimea will be eviscerated soon, it ain’t 2014 anymore.

10

u/Iamanimite May 14 '22

Fuck the republican party. They voted not to impeach Trump for distressing ukraine. Twice.

That’s great and all, but Mitchey boy is still a scum bag.

2

u/Chrusciki May 14 '22

I donno about letting Moscow Mitch in. Could you not send him back also

2

u/alancarlotta May 14 '22

I love that we have bi-partisan support for this Noble cause1 The Ukrainian army and people are an inspiration for the entire free world.

2

u/qinosen May 14 '22

For those interested in the names of the Senators (L to R from vid at :55)

John Barrasso (WY) Ranking Member of Senate Energy and Natural Resources, also on Foreign Relations cmte

Mitch McConnell (KY) Senate Minority Leader (GOP leader in 50-50 Senate)

Susan Collins (ME) Senate Appropriations and Intel Cmte

John Cornyn (TX) Intel Cmte and Finance Cmte, has also served as McConnell's #2 when GOP is in Majority

2

u/Conscious-Sky56 May 14 '22

The common sense prevailed and Republicans showed support for Ukraine. Right thing to do, long overdue

2

u/Dhididnfbndk May 14 '22

Good for Mitch McConnell! We need all of Congress supporting Ukraine. Hopefully Rand Paul sees this and dies of jealousy.

2

u/Reverend_Ooga_Booga May 14 '22

Mitch knew he was safe because he is a Russian Asset and Putin would make sure nothing happened to his little bubushka

2

u/madeoutofpizza May 14 '22

Fuck Mitchell

2

u/Malk4ever May 14 '22

I hope this hypocrites dont forget to support ukraine, when they are back... in the past they didnt.

Best thing I’ve seen McConnell do his entire career besides telling rand Paul to go his an egg

2

u/-ImYourHuckleberry- May 14 '22

You can keep him…

All the guy does is breathe air while you pay for it.

2

u/TrickyTeacherTraci May 14 '22

I wish Zelensky would send a couple of Ukraine's finest soldiers over to have a nice visit & chat with Rand Paul.

2

u/SamGoesArf May 14 '22

snorts McConnell is 25 years too late

2

u/Rudy_Colludiani USA May 14 '22

I disagree on almost everything with everybody I know.

But every single one of us wants to see Ukraine prevail.

Ordinary people doing extraordinary things in unexpected places. Basically defending all of democracy.

God I admire them.

2

u/I_burn_noodles May 14 '22

I'm disgusted that even our diplomatic outreach is done on a partisan basis. Its amazing that we are not capable of presenting a United States of America. We're so transactional that everything must reward our political parties at the cost of the nation.

2

u/xpandaofdeathx May 14 '22

Rand Paul was not invite he voted NO on the Ukraine aid, another Putin puppet, and possibly a muppet.
